I finally had the surgery!!

I'm just getting home from the dreaded
but much needed surgery. I put it off for as long as I physically could. My day started at 4am. I arrived for registration by 5:45am and by 12pm I was back home in my bed...still feeling pretty good from the anesthesia.  The procedure was a RFA also known as Radio frequency Ablation.

This procedure is performed to treat varicose veins (V.V).  Many think that v.v. are only unsightly but, in all honestly, they can be very painful. There were many days & nights I found myself unable to walk. I had even experienced numbness in my calf. This scare is what temporarily stopped my exercise routines. V.V. are hereditary. They are also agitated and worsened by excessive weight gain and pregnancy. Seeing as though v.v. run in my family (thanks pop-pop) and I have had four very large pregnancies,  I stand on my feet for hours w/o sitting and I have a major appetite for beautiful high heel shoes, I am the poster child for what to do to ensure the development of v.v. I am extremely  happy, thus far, with the procedure. Now, I am on the hunt for fabulously comfortable shoes that are swagger...full. This time I will not purchase a single high heel. :-) This will be a fun hunt.  New shoes, shorts & skirts, I'm so excited! No more hiding these legs!!! I'll keep you posted on all the great finds!

No More Eating Dirty!

Two days of Easter Feasitng                       and             Red Lobster...Just because!
I admit I love to cook & eat out. I also love to work out, design clothes & wear the hell out of

them. Unfortunately, the more I cook my favorite foods that my family & I love, the less attractive I

look in my clothes. It is pointless to exercise all week only to go to Red Lobster on the weekend and

order every yummy thing I desire on the menu talking about "I'm rewarding myself" or "I'll just

take a lil" taste". The ugly truth is that weight loss and building muscle starts with discipline.

The first discipline is the right mind set. Knowing that in order to get different results one has to try

a different method is key from the jump. The second discipline is researching your diet. Knowing

your cravings and knowing that starving yourself works against you, makes a huge difference in

achieving your desired goals. Eating small portions of well balanced meals frequently throughout the

day will increase your metabolism rate as well as help prevent hunger pains. Of course the third

discipline is exercising.  Exercising at least 3 days a week is whats recommended by the experts.

Today I am encouraged to stay focused on my diet as well as my work out routine...& not undoing

all of my hard work this weekend on crab  alfredo, cheddar bay biscuits & sugary drinks that are the

equivalent to drinking 3 snickers bars!

Peach & salmon salad...lunch when @ work
(I'll try it w/o the light balsamic dressing)

Breakfast...home blended protein shake

I'm sticking to the clean diet!
