It is that time again where everyone has their 'New Year's Resolutions' and are full of great expectations for the new year. Some will go to church more, pray more, smoke less, eat less...as for me, my first resolution for the new year is to learn from mistakes & do what works! This means I will NEVER shop at bottomdollar EVER again. You see, shopping there was the mistake and not going to Shop Rite or Fresh Grocer, which always ends in a fabulous meal on the table, is the wisdom I had ignored for the holidays. I purchased ribs, eggs, and smoked turkey tails. I could not buy greens because they were all wilted. The goal was to make black eyed peas, beef ribs, potato salad, greens ect... well on Christmas morning I found that my ribs were spoiled! Yes spoiled! On Christmas morning! I kindly returned them and made other plans...we ate over my aunts.
On New Years I wanted to make a 7up cake and a chocolate cake using the eggs I had purchased only a few days earlier from bottomdollar and make fried chicken with black eyed peas & fresh stringed beans using smoked turkey tails (the same smoked turkey tails I had purchased and froze only a few days earlier) The egg yolks hid blood in them. This ruined four boxes of cake mix. My kids were grossed out & sorely disappointed. And to put the icing on the cake (excuse the pun) I thawed out the smoked turkey tails only to find that they too were spoiled. So the moral of this story is "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me". I am keeping this New Years Resolution to learn from my mistakes & choose wisdom...no more bottomdollar food shopping. I think its obvious as to why they can mark their food prices down.
